“We decided to increase our production capacity in Central Europe in order to satisfy growing demand for our products,” said Pablo Rozas, Production Manager of Lana Construction, and added: “After extensive investigations, we chose the Czech Republic because it offers an experienced work force and excellent transport infrastructure.”
“It’s no coincidence that Lana will build its plant in close proximity to the large wooden material processing company Stora Enso Timber Zdirec, which is a subsidiary of the global wood processing concern Stora Enso,” commented CzechInvest Project Manager Radek Zatloukal.“The Czech Republic is known in Europe as an importer of quality wood, which was also one of the reasons the Spanish investor short listed it in when choosing where to expand.”
Lana is engaged in wood processing mainly for the construction and furniture-making industries.Lana is part of the Mondragon Corporación Cooperativa (MCC), which is one of the ten most important in Spain. It consists of over one hundred companies that altogether employ 60,000 people.
