CzechInvest presents new investment-support strategy in Tokyo, Nagoya and Kyoto

In cooperation with Japanese partners, CzechInvest held three seminars last week focused on current investment and business relations between the Czech Republic and Japan.

The director of CzechInvest’s Tokyo office, Richard Schneider, presented the new Innovation Strategy of the Czech Republic 2019-2030 “The Czech Republic – The Country for the Future” and key points of CzechInvest’s new strategy for arranging investments. Reiko Kimura, head of the Prague branch of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), and Kazuma Inoue, head of the Prague branch of the MUFG banking institution, spoke about the state of the Czech economy and Japanese investments in the Czech Republic.

Tereza Kavan Klimešová of Deloitte detailed the situation on the labour market and companies’ approach to dealing with the current labour shortage.

The topics of the seminars also included the recently concluded Economic Partnership Agreement between the European Union and Japan, whose main changes and benefits for the Czech Republic were present by Kazual Usui of JETRO. The subsequent panel discussion featured important guests such as Makoto Takahashi, former president of Panasonic AVC Network Czech, Takura Kawai of the European branch of Dentons, Tomáš Seidl, senior partner at Deloitte Prague, and Seiji Nakagoshi, advisor to the CEO of CzechInvest.
