CzechInvest’s director of West Coast operations, Miroslav Tenkl, attended the seventh annual EU-Texas Summit in Austin, which was focused on promoting investment and trade cooperation between the EU countries and Texas, on Tuesday, 8 May 2018. Tenkl was invited to take the stage together with representatives of Estonia and Portugal in order to give a talk on investment opportunities in the Czech Republic. The summit was attended by over 100 guests including representatives of Texan companies operating in various industries, mainly gaming, cyber security, electronics and food production.
Among the main highlights that Tenkl emphasized with respect to investment opportunities in the Czech Republic were the engineering skillset and affordability of the Czech workforce, the country’s geographical location and the high quality of life for international expatriates in Prague and Brno. Tenkl also mentioned that the Czech labor market is becoming saturated and incoming companies thus need to offer pleasant working conditions and a positive corporate culture.
