In cooperation with the Swiss-Czech Chamber of Commerce and CzechInvest, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bern held a Czech Day event on Thursday, 8 November 2018. Six Czech firms were provided with space in the morning section of the event for presenting themselves and engaging with potential Swiss partners. CzechTourism also presented its activities. The afternoon part of Czech Day was opened by Czech singer-songwriter Jan Řepka, who is currently on tour in Switzerland. Attendees subsequently had the opportunity to obtain information on current trends in the area of Czech and Swiss mechanical engineering. Markus Koch of Deloitte spoke about the challenges of digitalisation in industry, Raoul Keller of the Swissmem association about opportunities arising from the development of cooperation in Swiss and Czech mechanical engineering, Miroslav Václavík of VÚTS about examples of successful Czech mechanical engineering and Barbora Račan Ježková of CzechInvest about the potential and opportunities of support for the activities of firms in both countries in various forms of economic cooperation. More than thirty people attended the event.
