In October, CzechInvest prepared a series of seminars on the topic of employing foreigners in order to inform employers about new developments in the area of residence permits. The originally planned in-person lectures in Prague, Ostrava, Brno and Ústí nad Labem were replaced with a combined online seminar on 13 October 2020 due to the epidemiological situation involving the coronavirus. The seminar was attended by more than one hundred representatives of major employers in the manufacturing, shared-services centres and IT sectors, as well as technology companies and research institutions.
Representatives of CzechInvest, the Ministry of the Interior, KPMG and Integration Centre Prague took part in the seminar programme. CzechInvest focused on government visa programmes and the specific features of labour migration during the coronavirus pandemic. The agency also presented the new Work in the Czech Republic (Talent Attraction) project, which promotes the Czech Republic among university graduates and talented young people from European Union countries. Other speakers focused on the issue of migration in the context of current restrictions on crossing national borders, the role of centres for the integration of foreigners, adaptation-integration courses and the most essential legal aspects of employing foreigners.
The successful seminar was followed by an online visa seminar held in the English language on 22 October 2020. Twenty representatives of international employers, embassies, chambers of commerce and investment agencies listened to presentations given by CzechInvest, PWC and the South Moravia Regional Centre for Foreigners.
