Game Access conference in Brno presents new developments in the gaming industry

From 1 to 3 June 2018, Brno hosted one of the biggest international gaming conferences in Central Europe, Game Access 2018, which was organised by the GameDev Area independent initiative. The conference was attended by more than 1,000 people from the Czech Republic, the United States, Germany, Finland, France and many other countries.

A Business Forum was held during the first day of the conference. Participants in the forum included representatives of the City of Brno, the South Moravian Innovation Centre, the Brno Expat Centre and the company Bohemia Interactive, as well as CzechInvest’s sectoral specialist for the area of information and communication technologies, who presented programmes supporting start-ups with the possibility of acceleration stays abroad.

Over the course of three days, conference participants were also able to visit the freely accessible Expo in order to try out new computer and board games, experience virtual reality and remember old times at the Museum of Games. The organisers also prepared a full range of lectures and workshops for those in attendance. Speakers at this year’s conference included one of the legends of the gaming world, John Romero, which is behind globally successfully games such as DOOM and Quake.
