The 2018 NAB Show, the world’s largest trade fair and conference focused on audio-visual and communication technologies, was held in Las Vegas from 7 to 12 April. This year’s edition of the event was attended by more than 103,000 visitors from 161 countries and more than 1,800 exhibitors.
Topics discussed at the trade fair included expansions and trends in the areas of, for example, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, virtual and enhanced reality, streaming systems, video-drones, camera technology and communication, security, military, satellite, broadcast and television technologies. The value of deals arranged at the event is commonly in the range of USD 20 billion. A new feature this year was the significant qualitative advance in imaging technology.
At the 2018 NAB Show, CzechInvest focused on audio-visual projects with high value added, ideally with the possible participation of Czech firms including start-ups. Following the conference, the agency met with a representative of the Nevada Governor’s Office for Economic Development regarding cooperation in the New Nevada Tech Bridge platform, which is focused on the area of innovative projects.
