On 25-26 May 2015, more than fifty students from the Secondary Technical School of Mechanical Engineering and the Secondary Vocational School of Professor Švejcar in Plzeň visited the production facilities of GÜHRING s.r.o. in the town of Líně – Sulkov near Plzeň. CzechInvest’s Plzeň office assisted with organising the visit.
The company’s production manager, Michal Mlčoch, familiarised the students with the actual work for which they are being prepared in the course of their studies. The students thus had the opportunity to hear something about the structure and focus of the firm, view video demonstrations of top-level technologies and take a close look at and even handle the facility’s technical equipment. The students received instructional materials with the company’s complete product assortment. They took great interest also in information about possible future employment at the company.
GÜHRING s.r.o. manufactures high-quality cutting tools and clamps for industrial machining which are used in the automotive and aerospace industries. The company ranks among major innovators and is a significant employer in the Plzeň region. It has long been involved in cooperation with the Secondary Technical School of Mechanical Engineering and the Secondary Vocational School of Professor Švejcar in Plzeň, as well as the Faculty of Engineering at the University of West Bohemia, also in Plzeň. As the schools’ fields of study are very attractive for the firm, more excursions of upperclassmen from the Secondary Technical School of Mechanical Engineering and the Secondary Vocational School of Professor Švejcar in Plzeň are being planned for the future.
