Twelve Canadian firms operating in the fields of information technology, nanotechnology, automation and robotics, geospace technology and biotechnology visited Prague on Wednesday, 21 November 2018. The companies’ representatives met their counterparts from twelve selected Czech firms and institutions, such as the Central European Institute of Technology, University of Chemistry and Technology, and the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, and the companies CheckTerra and Quinta-analytica. The meeting was organised by CzechInvest in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the German-Canadian Centre for Innovation and Research. During the morning session, the participants discussed possibilities of future cooperation, for example in connection with  a call of the DELTA programme, which is being prepared by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and is aimed at supporting applied research and experimental development.

In the afternoon, the representatives of the Canadian firms toured the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics at the Czech Technical University in Prague.

The Canadian firms’ visit to the Czech Republic followed a technology mission of Czech firms and institutions that CzechInvest conducted in Canada in October of this year.
