Aerospace

Aerospace companies seeking to better serve customers while optimising cost efficiencies will find that their needs related to production, sourcing, MRO and R&D can be more competitively satisfied in the Czech Republic than elsewhere. This is attributable to the country's deep-rooted aerospace tradition, academic interface, certification track record, skills availability, comparatively low overheads, excellent infrastructure, investment incentives and business climate conducive to profitability.

The Czech Republic's aerospace sector is returning to the vanguard of competitive innovation as a result of the transition driven by the changing dynamics of the business. Czech aerospace companies are proving to be up to the new challenges, with many successfully incorporated into global value chains, while others independently utilise their outstanding technical competence and entrepreneurial spirit to develop unique products and solutions. Both traditional Czech manufacturers and reputable international investors are currently participating in numerous multi-national joint projects. An increasing number of Czech-made components and solutions feature in the A380 and B787 programmes, for example.

A core asset of the Czech aerospace industry is the skills of the 10,000 aviation professionals employed in the sector. Complemented by graduate output, this represents the bedrock of intellectual capital that is ready to meet the most demanding of tasks in terms of levels of expertise and innovation. Competitive investment incentives for manufacturing, maintenance, repair, design and R&D centres, as well as a supplier development programme are in place.

  • Dan Sheflin, Honeywell Vice President of Technology for Automation and Control Systems

"We are delighted to announce the opening of Honeywell's Global Aviation Centre for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in Prague. This is a major milestone, marking an expanded commitment to the Czech Republic and our EMEA customers. Prague was selected for its long-term affordability, growing industrial base and infrastructure, access to critical technical skills, and close proximity to Honeywell's EMEA business."
