Carls-Zeiss-Stiftung – SCHOTT AG
- SCHOTT AG is a part of Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung, a globally leading group of companies operating in several diverse growth markets in the areas of medical and research solutions, industrial solutions and lifestyle products.
- In 2004 SCHOTT AG, a manufacturer of solar energy systems established a new production facility for solar modules in the city of Valašské Meziříči.
- In July 2007 SCHOTT Solar expanded this production of solar modules at a total investment cost of approximately EUR 50 million.
- The annual production capacity was more than quadrupled to 200 megawatts.
- With the completion of the second investment phase, the number of employees in the state-of-the-art production facilities increased by about 400. Thus, between January 2003 and August 2009, Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung created the total of 700 jobs, the largest number in the renewable energy sector.
