Financial Forums for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
Are you an entrepreneur with a new idea and a desire to expand, but you are struggling with questions of where to find sources of financing for your innovation? If so, CzechInvest’s project called Financial Forum for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises is intended for you.
- “The secret of business is to know what others don’t know” Aristotle Onassis
Among Czech entrepreneurs, there is a serious lack of information on the various possibilities of financing. Czech entrepreneurs primarily use established banking products for the development of their firms. Of course, you know that there are other sources of financing that are standard alternatives in Western Europe and the United States, but that have hitherto remained almost non-existent in the Czech environment. Has it occurred to you that you could cooperate with a venture-capital fund or business angel on the development of your enterprise?
Find new paths to financing!
A Financial Forum for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises is a two-day programme for owners and managers of small and medium-sized firms. The purpose of Financial Forums is to show participants various alternative paths to financing. From personalities form the world of business, you can learn how venture-capital investments and financing through business angels work, and what is necessary to do in order for your firm to gain this type of investor. From representatives of banks, you will receive a comparison with bank financing, including possibilities to combine a subsidy with bank credit. Another important part of the programme is dedicated to practical examples. CzechInvest’s representatives supplement the programme with a basic overview of opportunities to draw resources from EU structural funds.
Communicate with financiers!
Together with CzechInvest, partners from a range of financial and regional institutions participate in Financial Forums. Such partners include important banks, venture-capital funds, business angels networks and business incubators. You thus have a unique opportunity to consult with representatives of these institutions regarding your needs and problems.
Find out how to get an investor!
Where can you begin when you need to attract an investor? A seminar organised within the Financial Forums should answer this question. At this seminar you will be able to familiarise yourself with the ways to correctly prepare a business plan and to successfully present your investment project to potential investors. You can then put this knowledge to practical use during your presentation before representative of financial institutions at an Investment Forum for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, another event prepared by CzechInvest with the aim of making various possibilities of financing available to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Visit this traditional event for dynamic entrepreneurs!
CzechInvest has organised Financial Forums since 2005. A total of 352 firms have participated so far. Financial Forums are organised in various regions of the Czech Republic – in Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Plzen. The target group of the Forums is primarily comprised of dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises that are either in the embryonic stage of business (start-up to expansion) or launching an innovative product. However, participation can also be beneficial for representatives of business incubators and science-and-technology parks – i.e. simply any entity for which it is important to have thorough knowledge of the market for financing commercial ideas.
