Investment Forums for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
From start-up to success
New firms in the seed and start-up phases of their life-cycle often have a problem finding outside sources of financing for their launch. At the beginning, such firms can utilize their own financing or that of friends. For introducing a product to the market, however, a firm needs to expend a substantial proportion of costs on acquiring a suitable background, necessary entries and marketing support.
If a firm has a properly prepared business plan, a realistic concept for its realisation and capable management behind it, it is appropriate to turn to a business angel investor in this phase.
Investor – the correct partner for expansion
Expansion is another phase of development when a firm has the opportunity to address investors with the aim of obtaining external financial resources. This involves a situation when a firm wants to introduce to the market a new product representing a fundamental innovation in its offer. A higher level of risk is generally associated with a firm’s expansion. Therefore, sources of financing in the form of credit or leasing are difficult to obtain. Thus it is suitable to join forces with a venture-capital investor that will provide to the firm sufficient capital for the launch of the new investment.
Investment Forum – an active approach to financing
If your firm is in one of the phases described above and is seeking financing necessary for the successful implementation of its business project, you can take advantage of the possibility to present your firm’s project directly to venture-capital investors and business angels. For innovative firms in the seed, start-up and expansion phases, CzechInvest has prepared the new project called Investment Forum for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, within which firms can present their innovative projects and future plans for further development with the aim of interesting assessors from a range of venture-capital funds, representatives of business angels networks and individual investors.
Every firm interested in participating in a forum must first submit for evaluation documentation on its project, which then undergoes a preliminary selection procedure, as only the ten most interesting projects will have the opportunity to compete for financial resources.
CzechInvest offers selected firms the following cooperation in the preparation of their presentations:
- preparation of the business plan
- preparation of the presentation of the investment project before the financial assessors
- advisory service and expert consultation from professionals in the area of company financial management
How to register
Two forums will be prepared this year, one of which will take place in Prague and the other in Brno in the second half of the year.
