Conditions for entry to the Czech Republic from November 9th, 2020

As a result of ban of free movement based on Resolution of Czech Governement on Crisis Measure it is not possible to travel to the Czech Republic for purpose of tourism or visit effective on October 22, 2020. Only essential travel is possible.
Solving residence matters of foreign nationals in the territory of the CZ in connection with COVID-19
Foreign nationals who resided from 12 March 2020 to 16 July 2020 in the territory of the Czech Republic on the basis of visa for a stay of up to 90 days for the purpose of work or seasonal work and on the basis of long-term visa of the purpose seasonal work or extraordinary work visa can stay in the territory of the Czech Republic till 16 November 2020. This applies only in case, that employer extended work contract at least till 16 September 2020 or signed new valid work contract for this period. Validity of current decision about work permit is extended till 16 November 2020 on these conditions. More information on MoI website.

The residence of foreigners on the territory of the Czech Republic is governed by Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residence of Foreigner Nationals in Czech Republic and on the Amendment of Certain Acts, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the Foreigners Act). The current wording of the Foreigners Act and related amendments is available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior.
The residence of foreigners on the territory of the Czech Republic is further governed by the legal regulations of the European Union (EU) and the European Community (EC). In the visa area, this primarily concerns Regulation (EC) of the European Parliament and of the Council No. 810/2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code) and Regulation (EC) No. 539/2001 (as amended) listing the third-countries whose nationals must be in possession of a visa when crossing the external borders and those whose nationals are exempt from that requirement.
All regulations of the Schengen acquis have been applicable in the Czech Republic since 21 December 2007, when the Czech Republic became part of the Schengen Area. More information is available on the websites of the relevant ministries: www.mvcr.cz and www.mzv.cz.
Programmes approved by the government of the Czech Republic for the purpose of achieving economic benefit for the Czech Republic
On 26 September 2019, the government of the Czech Republic approved programmes for the purpose of achieving economic benefit for the Czech Republic (hereinafter referred to as the “government programmes”) and regulations setting the maximum number of long-term visa applications for the purpose of conducting business and blue-card applications. With effect from 1 September 2019, the government programmes supersede the Ukraine and Other Countries Systems, Ukraine and India Projects and the Welcome Package and Fast Track projects).
The Qualified Employee Programme CZ-ISCO 4-8 for employees from Ukraine, Serbia, Montenegro, Mongolia, the Philippines, India, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Belarus supersedes and expands the Ukraine System and Other Countries System.

The Highly Qualified Employee Programme CZ-ISCO 1-3 supersedes the Ukraine and India Projects and expands them to all countries outside of the EU.
The Key and Scientific Personnel Programme CZ-ISCO 1-3 for statutory representatives, managers and key specialists of significant Czech and foreign investors, research organisations and start-ups supersedes and expands the Welcome Package and Fast Track projects.
