With a population of 3.5 million, Uruguay has ambitions to feed 50 million people. The European Commission, on the other hand, aims to transform a agricultural production in a manner that will suit consumers, producers, the climate and the environment. What can Uruguay, one of the richest countries in South America, and the Czech Republic learn from each other? What is the level of digitalisation of agriculture in these two countries and what challenges do they face? Please allow us to invite you to a webinar on innovation and the circular economy in agriculture in the Czech Republic and Uruguay.
According to the UN, the global population will reach nearly ten billion in 2050. As the population grows, so will food consumption and demands on land and the environment. One solution to address those growing concerns about the impact of the climate crisis and pressure on natural resources is to use innovative technologies, gradual digitalisation, robotisation and automation in agriculture. According to The Financial Times, in the past year alone, investors have poured nearly USD 17 billion into agritech startups focusing on new technologies in agriculture, and the industry is undergoing a major transformation.
CzechInvest, in cooperation with the Honorary Consulate of Uruguay in the Czech Republic and the Embassy of Uruguay in Vienna, invites you to a webinar in which selected experts from both countries will evaluate the current state of knowledge, outline current challenges and opportunities, and familiarise you with examples of good practice.
The goals of the webinar:
