The purpose of the vent is to present to Japanese partners the top entities from seven sectors that excel thanks to their innovative and technological character:

On the Japanese side, Czech companies can look forward to seeing representatives of innovation agencies, research and development institutes, universities, the public sector and investors.
The Innovation Days event is an ideal opportunity for companies to establish ties with their Japanese counterparts in the given areas, whether this specifically involves cooperation in the context of research and development projects, gaining a partner for local representation or addressing investors.
Of no less importance, the event will raise awareness about Czech capacities in Japan, which the esteemed Global Innovation Index, for example, annually ranks as one of the world’s most innovative markets. In terms of spending on research and development (as a percentage of GDP), Japan ranks second in the world (UNESCO, 2019), surpassing countries such as the United States, Germany and France.
The event is also an opportunity to further enhance the long-term cooperation between Japan and the Czech Republic, which in 2020 celebrated the hundredth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. At the same time, the whole event will positively further develop the chosen theme of the Czech Republic for 2021 in Japan, which is science, education and innovation.
The importance of this event is underscored by the participation of a full range of esteemed speakers. The opening address will be delivered by H.E. Hideo Suzuki, Japan’s ambassador in the Czech Republic, and H.E. Martin Tomčo, the Czech Republic ambassador in Japan, Yoshitaka Hoshino, executive vice-president of JETRO, and Nobutaka Takeo, general manager of NEDO’s European office.
