GPS receiver from Czech start-up SkyFoxLabs launched into space

SkyFoxLabs is a mentor at the first Czech space incubator, ESA BIC Prague

An Atlas V rocket carrying a Cygnus OA-7 resupply craft was dispatched to the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday, 18 April 2017. Part of the cargo comprised 48 small CubeSat satellites including the Greek UPSat satellite, which carries a special GPS receiver developed in the Czech Republic by Dr. Pavel Kovář and manufactured by Jaroslav Laifr for SkyFoxLabs. After docking with the ISS, the satellite with the Czech receiver will be the historically first Czech space product manufactured in small series production launched into outer space.

The start-up SkyFoxLabs was established in 2015 and, among other things, currently provides its mentoring services to participants in the first Czech space incubator, ESA BIC Prague.
