CzechInvest CEO Silvana Jirotková is visiting Canada from 14 to 18 April 2019 as a member of a Czech delegation composed of representatives of not only the state administration, but also of Czech firms. During her visit, she is holding talks on cooperation in the areas of aerospace and artificial intelligence.
Jirotková began her trip on Monday, 15 April 2019. In Montreal, she attended the Canada-Czech Space Industry seminar organised by CzechInvest in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportation and the Canadian Space Agency with the aim of supporting Czech-Canadian collaboration in the area of space activities. She also visited the Canadian Ministry of Finance, Science and Innovation.
During the rest of the week, Jirotková will attend the Global Supply Chain Summit, whose main topic is artificial intelligence in aviation, as well as the Aeromart 2019 trade fair, which will also be attended by Czech firms and institutions such as 5M, Modelárna LIAZ, MGM Compro, Space Systems, TOSEDA, Workpress Aviation, UAV Power Systems, Czech Aerospace Research Centre and the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Jirotková’s programme also includes meetings with potential investors and clusters including, for example, the Scale.ai super-cluster focusing on artificial intelligence, the Montreal institute for artificial intelligence MILA and the Aero Montreal aviation cluster.
In the period from 1993 to 2017, CzechInvest assisted with bringing twelve Canadian investment projects in the combined value of CZK 4.9 billion to the Czech Republic.
