Neuron Soundware, Spendee and Impact Hub Praha are the Czech winners of the sixth edition of the Central European Start-up Awards (CESA). The final of the prestigious startup competition took place in Bucharest on 21 November 2019. The Czech Republic was represented by twelve innovative companies that had previously won the national round of the competition at the end of September 2019.
In comparison with the previous edition of the event, the Czech startups had clearly improved. Last year, only Dita Přikrylová of Czechitas won at CESA, as she was named the Female Role Model of the Year. This year we have three Czech winners in different categories. Neuron Soundware won the Best IoT Startup category. Representatives of Spendee, a personal financial management application, received the award for the Best Fintech Start-up. Prague’s Impact Hub was named the best coworking space of the year.
CzechInvest was a partner of the Czech national round of CESA. Through its programmes, the agency supports or previously supported several successful competition participants. Neuron Soundware is currently being incubated in the ESA BIC Prague space incubator. Spendee participated in CzechInvest’s CzechDemo project in 2018.
