European Countries present research and development opportunities in Boston

Destination Europe was held in Boston on Friday, 5 February 2016. Event showcase the exciting research and innovation culture in Europe and opportunities available there to researchers from around the world who are interested in working in Europe. Destination Europe is a joint initiative of the European Union and its member states.

Eleven EU member states participated in the conference. Jan Chmelik, Director of East Coast operations at CzechInvest’s New York office, presented the Czech Republic’s vibrant research and innovation environment and the opportunities that it offers, as well as possible sources of funding and some of the state-of-the-art infrastructure available in the country.

The European Commission has been organising presentations of research and development opportunities available in the EU for the past ten years. This year’s first event took place in Boston, Massachusetts, a traditional innovation hub with some of the world’s most renowned universities.
