CzechInvest CEO Karel Kučera met with German investors at the Czech embassy in Berlin on 4 May 2015 in connection with his trip to Germany as a member of a delegation headed by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka.

Other participants included the Czech ambassador to Germany, Tomáš Jan Podivínský, and the secretary for European affairs, Tomáš Prouza. The discussion was moderated by Peter Tils, Deutsche Bank’s director for Central and Eastern Europe, and featured the active participation of, for example, Bernard Bauer, executive member of the board of the Czech-German Chamber of Trade and Industry in Prague.

The meeting and subsequent discussion with the prime minister and CzechInvest CEO were attended by representatives of major German firms such as Airbus Group, Deutsche Post, E.ON, Erwin Junker, Frauenhofer, Henkel, Kaufland, Knauf Gips, Linde, Mubea, MVV Energie, Osram, Rehau, Siemens, Škoda Auto and Volkswagen.

German firms are the most active foreign investors in the Czech Republic. Last year, CzechInvest registered a total of 26 investment projects originating in Germany. The preliminary value of those projects is calculated at CZK 7.7 billion with the expected creation of 3,100 jobs.
