The BIO Japan 2015 trade fair, the most prestigious event in its sector in Asia, took place in Yokohama from 14 to 16 October 2015. The trade fair attracted more than fourteen thousand visitors and nearly 700 exhibitors. CzechInvest participated in the event with the purpose of establishing new contacts with representatives of major Japanese pharmaceutical companies that may plan expansions to the European market.
CzechInvest’s representatives also appeared at related seminars. Their presentations included not only existing successes through which the Czech Republic has contributed to the development of the life sciences sector on the global scale, but also possibilities of using the country’s current research capacities in the areas of developing new drugs and therapeutic methods and investment opportunities.
“The tradition and research results in the life sciences sector in combination with public investment in new research capacities and economic stimuli for investors have attracted to the Czech Republic major investment projects of companies such as Sanofi, Sanofi, Lonza , Teva, Otsuka and Novartis. The Czech Republic’s attractiveness as a partner for contract research and production activities has been confirmed by the range meetings that took place in connection with our participation in the event. We believe that in the Czech Republic we will be successful in meeting the needs of major pharmaceutical companies,” said Hana Chlebná, head of the Sector Specialisation Department at CzechInvest, commenting on the agency’s participation in the trade fair.
