Another webinar in a series of presentations of trends and policies in the areas of foreign investment and support for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises was held on Friday, 2 October 2020, this time with counterparts from Lithuania. With this webinar, CzechInvest followed up on a similar event that it held in May 2020 in cooperation with Kazakhstan. The purpose of the webinar was to share examples of good practice, exchange knowledge and discuss national policies aimed at supporting competitiveness and innovation. CzechInvest is also participating in an OECD panel discussion, where investment promotion agencies share their approaches and techniques in this area.

In the October webinar, representatives of CzechInvest presented the Innovation Strategy of the Czech Republic – Country for the Future, CzechInvest’s Strategy 2019+ and the system of investment incentives in the Czech Republic. Representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, Invest Lithuania, the PPMI scientific institute and other institutions participated on behalf of Lithuania. The topics discussed were, in particular, the national policy to support investments with higher value added, Industry 4.0, digitalisation, support for technological incubation and the establishment of hubs, as well as availability of labour.

"Shortly after its establishment in the 1990s, CzechInvest received valuable advice and consultations from investment agencies in Great Britain and Ireland, which contributed to the rapid adoption of modern investment trends and proactive work with clients. We are pleased that we are currently recognised as one of the most respected and well-established investment and startup support agencies in the European Union and we are now sharing strategies and management techniques with our counterparts from other countries,” says Veronika Zajícová, head of CzechInvest’s Investment and Foreign Operations Division.

The fact that CzechInvest is not a novice in the field of investments and startups and ranks among the highly regarded agencies is evidenced by the annual comparison carried out by the Emerging Europe organisation, which recognises the best investment agencies in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. In 2020, CzechInvest ranked third behind only Enterprise Estonia and Invest Lithuania.

For CzechInvest, the quality and sustainability of investments is essential for their development. The agency offers investors consulting on financial programmes, assistance in the area of HR, visa assistance and activities aimed at attracting talented people, while also putting investors in contact with suitable suppliers and strategic partners. Services that investors appreciate include preparation of presentations for branches of large foreign parent companies and the collection of suggestions and feedback and transfer thereof to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
