Czech game developers for the first time at EGX London 2022

The largest trade fair focusing on the video game industry in the United Kingdom took place on 22-25 September 2022 at London's main exhibition centre Excel London. For the first time Czech game developers participated at the event with the support of the economic diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the CzechInvest agency. Six Czech game studios presented themselves to a British audience and thus had the opportunity to launch their products on the market and receive valuable feedback, both from the gaming community and from business.

In London, we have welcomed virtual reality companies such as Divr Labs, a developer and operator of an entertainment VR arena, who is also opening a branch in London's Westfield shopping centre. Furthermore, the YORD studio dealing with XR solutions or the Victoria VR studio, which is building its application interface in the emerging phenomenon of the metaverse were also present at the event. The representatives of Immersive Divison came to EGX with a VR solution and presented their game Blockstar, which is still in the development phase, to the players and received valuable feedback before the official launch. The representatives of GoldKnights together with the publisher Prime Matter and Plaion also showed their game at the event. The game studio GoldKnights will introduce its action RPG game The Last Oricru to the general public in less than a month. The last participant was the studio CGE (Czech Game Edition) which is the publisher of the popular board game Cover Names. The aim of the visit to London was to present the digital/mobile version of the game which will be released on the market next year.

Many exhibitors, a rich accompanying program and a lot of entertainment ensured a fairly brisk course. The Czech stand was visited by hundreds of people every day and we strongly believe that Czech game developers will succeed in the British market.
