LG Chem will supply EV batteries to Skoda’s first electric SUV called Enyaq iV. With this, LG Chem has become a supplier of Volkswagen Group such as Audi and Volkswagen as well as Skoda for the electric vehicles.

Since Enyaq is based on Modular Electric Drive (MEB) platform for mass production of pure electric vehicles, LG Chem could possibly gain the momentum for future supply deal of VW’s MEB models.

Batteries are supplied from LG Chem’s Wroclaw plant in Poland. Wroclaw plant is LG Chem’s largest production base accounts for 50~60% of its total output. Skoda will bring batteries from LG Chem to Mlada Boleslav plant in the Czech Republic to assemble.

Depends on the capacity 55kWh, 62kWh and 88kWh, LG Chem supplies three types of batteries to Enyaq. For example, Enyaq 80 iV will come with 82kWh battery pack in which the range covers 510km on a single charge. The entry-level model iV 50 delivers over 340km of driving range on a single charge. These batteries can be charged with a maximum capacity of 125kW.
