The Czech-Chinese Business Forum was held at the newly opened Czech establishment Original Bohemia Beer Restaurant in Shanghai on Tuesday, 26 February 2019. More than eighty representatives of Czech and Chinese firms attended the event.
With Richard Krpač, consul-general of the Czech Republic in Shanghai, in attendance, discussions were held on the current state of Czech-Chinese relations with respect to commercial exchange, investments and tourism, as well as challenges for 2019. Carlo D'Andrea, chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and leading Czech economist Lukáš Kovanda also participated in the panel discussion.
The Czech partners of the event were Škoda, Pilsner Urquell, HomeCredit and Botanicus. Observations and opinions were contributed by representatives of prominent Chinese investors and firms in the automotive, electrical-engineering, aerospace and mechanical-engineering sectors, such as Chint, Wanxiang, Wanfeng, Hangzhou XZB, Yapp, Yanfeng and Dahua, which CzechInvest assisted with entering the Czech market and continues to cooperate with in connection with AfterCare, including visa assistance.
The event ended with an informal buffet, during which the representatives of Czech and Chinese firms could exchange their views and experience, establish closer cooperation and drink Pilsner Urquell beer.
