Like every year, in the spring of 2021 China welcomed numerous important representatives of successful European companies to international seminars focused on development of mutual cooperation. CzechInvest also participated in these events.

In May and June, representatives of CzechInvest, in cooperation with the Consulate General in Shanghai and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing, participated in a series of seminars in which they actively promoted investment and business exchange between the Czech Republic and China. The seminars were held in the Chinese cities of Hangzhou and Ningbo.
The results are:

  • confirmation of key investments in electromobility in the value of EUR 33 million
  • potencial development of an R&D centre
  • further projects in prepation in the area of services and industry with higher value added

The first seminar was held in Hangzhou with the lieutenant governor of Zhejiang Province in attendance. The audience comprised more than 100 Chinese technology companies. The activities in June were connected with the well-known Chinese 17+1 summit in Ningbo, the main focus of which is cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.

This involved a number of panel discussions, media outputs and direct meetings with companies. As a result of the summit, more than twenty meetings were held with other potential investors and companies that are interested in partnership and cooperation with the Czech Republic. Over forty traditional Czech brands, such as Linet, Škoda, Preciosa Beauty, Marlenka, Litovel, Lobkowitz and many others, exhibited in the Czech Pavilion at a consumer goods exhibition.

At the conclusion of the week, CzechInvest took part in several rounds of talks with representatives of Minth Group, visits to the company’s R&D centres and discussions on a number of projects on which the company could cooperate and develop its innovation capacity in cooperation with Czech universities and research institutes.
