The China International Machine Tool Show, the most significant mechanical-engineering trade fair in Asia, took place in Beijing from 15 to 20 April 2019. More than 1,700 firms exhibited their products at the event, which was organised by the China Machine Tool and Tool Builders’ Association. Over 115,000 attendees could thus gain an overview of new trends in the development of mechanical-engineering production, primarily in the industrial segments of machine tools and forming machines, measuring and inspection systems, integration of industrial robots and solutions for digital factories. This focus corresponds to the central idea of the entire Win the Smart Future Together trade fair, which reflects the trend of combining smart manufacturing in various areas of industrial production, integration with other systems and sharing of information.

The Czech Republic was strongly represented at the trade fair, which illustrates the importance of the ties between the Czech and Chines markets in the area of mechanical engineering. In connection with the Czech Republic’s official participation under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and implementation by the company BVV Veletrhy Brno, the leading Czech mechanical-engineering firms TOS Hulín, ČKD Blansko-OS, TOS Kuřim–OS, KSK Precise Motion, TOS Varnsdorf, RETOS Varnsdorf, TOS Olomouc, Škoda Machine Tool, Fermat CZ and Pilana Metal exhibited at the event. CzechInvest exhibited at a joint stand with the Association of Engineering Technology in an impressive block together with other global engineering associations.

The Czech delegation also visited Zhongguancun, referred to as the Chinese Silicon Valley, which is focused on advanced 3D printing technologies. Talks were mediated by the Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Association. The two parties discussed the possibility of establishing cooperation in the areas of trade, manufacturing and science and research.
