On 25 August 2015, Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mládek met with Michael McNulty, general manager of LEGO Production, s.r.o., in order to verify the means by which the company is drawing investment incentives.
LEGO’s investment on the outskirts of Kladno has undergone major development in recent years and now employs two thousand people. The current plan for further expansion of the manufacturing complex at a cost of CZK 1 billion will bring forth 600 additional jobs in the future. The company has long received assistance from CzechInvest.
“This globally known company has been operating in the Czech Republic for a number of years already and exports the products that it makes here to the whole world,” says Karel Kučera, CEO of CzechInvest. "LEGO’s positive experience with the domestic business environment is evidenced by the fact that after several years it is expanding production here, its output is constantly rising and key employees for Europe and the Middle East are based here.
