Amazon’s new distribution centre in Dobrovíz starts operations

Amazon opened its new distribution centre in Dobrovíz, Central Bohemia, on 8 September 2015. The centre will become part of the company’s European distribution network and will assist with processing the wave of orders during the pre-Christmas period this year.

By 2018 the centre will employ 2,000 permanent and 3,000 seasonal employees, who will help to cover heightened seasonal demand.

The grand opening of the distribution centre was attended by CzechInvest CEO Karel Kučera alongside Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mládek and other public figures. CzechInvest assisted Amazon in preparing and implementing the investment. The agency mediated negotiations and communication with the Central Bohemia region, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Road and Motorway Directorate and other authorities.
