Part of the Canada-based Bombardier corporation, the Bombardier Transportation factory located in Česká Lípa manufactures welded components and bodies for regional and double-deck rail cars, as well as for trams and metros. It employs 1,000 people and is investing in the further expansion of this site, mainly in order to strengthen its paint shop capacities.
“Bombardier Transportation aims at specialising each of its production sites to concentrate know-how and achieve the best labour productivity. The Česká Lípa site has a hundred-year history of building rail cars, highly skilled workers and an excellent reputation as an employer, which is why Bombardier chose this plant for expansion.”

“One of our important decision-making points in evaluating the strategic decision to expand our operations to a new location in Czech Republic in 2014 was the possibility to gain a government incentive related to job creation. Consultations with CzechInvest’s specialists helped us significantly to analyse the available incentive options and reinforce our decision to open a new office in Ostrava in 2015.”
