Nexen Tire Europe launched its operations in the Czech Republic in 2019. This involves the company's first plant on the European continent; its three other facilities are in Asia. The Žatec factory ranks among the world’s state-of-the-art tire production facilities and employs more than 850 people. CzechInvest cooperated with the company in selecting the location and arranging an investment in the amount of CZK 22.8 billion. This is the third-biggest investment in the automotive sector that CzechInvest has helped bring to the Czech Republic, immediately after Hyundai Motor Manufacturing in 2006 (CZK 34.4 billion) and Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile in 2005 (CZK 23.5 billion).
