Management of the Investment and Business Development Agency CzechInvest has been temporarily entrusted to Patrik Reichl, who has been with the agency for 14 years, the last five of which as the director of the regional office in Brno. He is replacing Silvana Jirotková, who will henceforth focus solely on her work as deputy minister of industry and trade.
“My task is to implement measures arising from the Innovation Strategy of the Czech Republic 2019-2030 as well as CzechInvest’s new strategy prepared by my predecessor. I will further continue the integration with CzechTrade, which should result in the merger of the two agencies,” says Patrik Reichl.
Reichl was named acting CEO due to his extensive experience, knowledge of CzechInvest’s environment and processes and the role he played in preparing the agency’s new strategy. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will seek a new permanent CEO through a selection process, which it plans to announce in autumn this year. With respect to the ministry’s plan to merge CzechInvest and CzechTrade, it is probable that a CEO will be selected for both of the merged agencies. Reichl will thus head CzechInvest for roughly six months.
Patrik Reichl is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague and the Brno International Business School. He has worked at CzechInvest since 2005, initially as head of the South Moravian office and later as director of the Regions Division. From 2010 to 2012, he served as the deputy CEO for business environment support. He returned to his position as head of the South Moravian office in 2014. Patrik Reichl is married and has three sons. He enjoys gardening and farming.
